I WORKED FOR CATV NY 1993 - 97. I previously worked for nytel/nynex, we were unionized. When the opportunity was presented to CATV employees, the company bribed them with a dinner at the Sheraton Hotel on 49th and B'way 1995. The Techs were voted down. Now the people (good & experienced) are suffering. The founder's son was an A hole.
Too little too late, we should have unionized before we were sold! At this point we're just pissing into the wind. There's no union that can make the company roll back to the good old days. The real question is how much is there left to salvage? It's a tough pill to swallow but if you just want a job, stay, keep fighting the good fight or if you want happiness start looking elsewhere. It's sad that this is the way things are now. Once a great company to work for and now just a check and the hopes that you can hold on to it. Just remember that it's your life do what makes you happy don't hold a candle for this place you'll only get burned. Peace..
