You will have health insurance for the current month you are let go on. The next month you will need to purchase your own coverage. Micron will give you the paperwork for Cobra coverage. I think the law states they have to offer you this coverage a week or two before you lose your coverage. Once on Cobra you will still have the same Micron insurance. You will use the same medical cards and so on. Cobra cost is very expensive. For me it cost $510 a month, yep cost is very high and that is for just one person. You can reject thie cobra and go through the state which is calculated based on your income. Micron folks typically make more than anyone else so how your income is calculated I do not know.

When are people leaving? I recommend going to the doctor and tell them what is going on so they can get you all checked out and ready for this. If you are on medication they are good about giving you samples, but they need to know before it happens as they can support your needs over the phone for awhile to avoid costing you money in the time of need.

Don't wait, get your teeth and eyes checked out to! Other employers do not have as good of dental coverage as micron which is up to $2500 a year.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I have been gone about two years now.

Good luck and don't stress as there are lots of jobs out there.
