I don't think GE Aviation Digital has any decent products, we made the mistake of selecting them for some of our digital transformation work and realized it was big mistake. Even a startup does better work. Aviation makes good quality engines, But their software team has no idea what they are doing..they leverage the trust and quality of the engine product.
Given their track record if Aviation digital was a separate company it would be bankrupt by now.

Aviation digital middle management is technically clueless entities. The only job they know to do is to attend meetings.
GE Aviation IT hasn’t really delivered anything. It seems to be play time for all the ex DTLP and buddy buddy clicks. Dave Burns talks about transformation and change, but his direct staff is the same clueless VP’s that were already in place. Many of the orgs are way too bloated and extremely SPB top heavy. Yes the Aviation business is making money and has backlog of orders, but Aviation IT needs new leaders in place to truly transform the org...not same VP’s who Burns is friends with.
The 2 gentlemen referred to are part of the problem at GE, would you ever go under the knife of a surgeon who has not done any surgeries for the last 10years. GE Aviation digital has leaders like this who are not hands on and are people managers coming from decades of being an outsourcing shop. They are out of touch with technology and now asked to lead a software organization and build products. For a manufacturing person even the 90s technology that these folks bring in in 2018 would be great. But if you are a software professional you want to work in a modern open minded result oriented high performance environment rather than in stone age, which is why i moved out of GE Aviation to a modern digital company thats bigger than GE Aviation...
Instead of posting this on a message board, why don’t you speak with Burns or Gottlieb? DTE and Test Data are changing the way engineers work and the usage data and 86% positive reviews are solid proof. Some of the tools are not well thought out, but you can’t call it all bad.
Yes, startups do better work. They have a track record of acquiring companies and then absolutely destroying them, their products, and their customer trust. Middle management is incompetent.
