It's all about the students:
Colleagues,
As was shared in communications earlier this week, Dream Center Education Holdings has made the decision to discontinue new enrollment in programs at your campus for any start dates from July 9th forward. New student applicants for the impacted future start dates are being contacted by a centralized admissions team to share their individual options.
The purpose of this message is to share the approach we will take in assisting our continuing students to stay on track toward achieving their educational goals.
It is important to note that your campus is not immediately closing. We remain committed to helping our continuing students achieve their educational and career goals.
Today, a communication will be sent to all current students at your campus outlining several options available to them to stay on their educational path. Students currently enrolled may:
· Option 1: Complete their studies at the campus, uninterrupted, if able to graduate on or before the end of the calendar year (extensions will be considered for some Argosy and South programs leading to licensure). Students who qualify for this option will receive a 50 percent reduction in tuition for the remainder of their program of study.
· Option 2: Transition from their campus-based program to the same or a comparable program via online delivery. Students who choose this option will receive a 50 percent reduction in tuition for the remainder of their program of study. Note: The option to attend online is not available to residents of Oregon or students from The Art Institute of Philadelphia.
· Option 3: Transition to another campus within DCEH that offers the same or a similar program. Student who choose this option will receive a 50 percent reduction in tuition for the remainder of their program of study.
· Option 4: Transfer to a partner institution that is not part of DCEH. Students who choose this option will receive a $5,000 tuition grant to support the completion of their studies. Note: Proof of enrollment required.
The steps being taken will necessitate changes to current staffing at your campus. Staffing changes will be made gradually between now and the end of the calendar year. Some employees will exit in the near-term, others will be asked to stay for a longer period, including through the transition, to ensure that we meet the needs of our continuing students. Each employee will receive notice of their exit date as far in advance as possible.
Within Academic Affairs, campus program deans and academic advisors will be meeting with each student over the course of the next several weeks to review his/her individual academic plans and path to graduation. Once those plans are complete, we will meet with faculty to discuss anticipated employment dates.
Despite these difficult circumstances, we ask that campus faculty and staff remain solely focused on our number one priority: our students. All active students should continue attending class as scheduled. Over the course of the next several weeks, we will be holding open meetings by program for continuing students, as well as individual meetings with students to review their academic progress and help them chart their path to completing their education.
Your guidance to continuing students should be:
-
For the upcoming session, attend your campus-based (and online) classes, as scheduled.
-
Attend the program specific-meetings that will be scheduled in the near-term.
-
Attend the one-on-one session we will schedule with you in the coming weeks to review your academic plan.
Again, your students will also receive an e-mail today informing them of their options and next steps.
Also, you will soon receive an invitation to a conference call, led by your institution’s chancellor, during which this information will be reviewed and discussed. Please plan to attend.
Thank you in advance for your patience, flexibility and professionalism as we work through this process.
