Usually I'm all gung-ho about Fourth of July, and yet today I'm up at the crack of dawn not even considering leaving the house. They really could have chosen a better time to drop this crap on us.

I got laid off from the Online Division last July and the job market s---s. I was with them for 11 years and was full-time for the last 5 or so years. What always amazes me is who they don't fire including the bulk of the management at Online, which are huge wastes of space. I received a significant amount of severance, but no idea how the Dream Center will handle severance, as it was handled by EDMC when I was fired. It's taken me this long to finally land another decent gig, so it's not been fun trying to pay the bills, but super happy to now be doing regular work for Western Governor's and Southern New Hampshire University. Much, much more together then EDMC ever was.

Sounds like you are a current or former student. Sorry AI put you in debt for a worthless degree. However, let me point out the following:
1) faculty are aware of the quality of the school where they teach. They do have families to support though, what would you have them do? Quit and lose their home? Still, all the faculty I know try their hardest to do their best for the students.
2) choosing a college is a big decision, and deserves a lot of research and thought. 5 minutes on google would have told you that any AI is a poor choice for college.

Same here. Worried what my next move will be. Worst part is we are still in limbo! We are supposed to get an email Friday with a final termination date. They redacted the original letter they mistakenly sent us on Saturday, saying we would be on payroll until 8/28. Guess they realized WARN doesn't apply in Colorado. Gave my heart and soul to that organization for many years. Can't wait to see what AiC students do. They are organizing a lawsuit. DCEH MUST PAY!

You are not alone! Both my husband and I are losing our jobs of 10+ years of service to these scumbags. No celebrating just trying to figure out how we will pay rent and feed our children.

I would celebrate even harder if I got laid off. I would gladly take whatever severance they may give me, collect unemployment, enjoy some time off and find another opportunity. However I work AUO so that’s not likely.
