I got fired in a group with others (Argosy) by conference call. Why no info on severance?? Only you will find out later in the week by email. Isn't there a formula like a week's pay for every year? Education benefit...lol anything?

Any chance AU Online will be experiencing layoffs?
Colorado is not a great state to be in when an employer starts pulling stuff like this, very few worker rights are afforded by state law (ironically named “right to work” laws). Keep us posted on any class action suits regarding AiC, please.
This stuff is making me physically ill.
Unfortunately, WARN doesn't apply in the state of Colorado. AiC was the only campus that MISTAKENLY received termination letters promising we would be on the payroll until August 28th. We were then told there will be a retraction letter by corporate on Friday. Funny thing, the letter didn't even have the correct address of the school on it. DCEH dumb--ses couldn't even get that right. Speaking to a lawyer on Friday. AiC students are organizing a lawsuit. Hope DCEH pays big time.
Hire an attorney
Clearly this was always their plan
Apparently they're following the warn act which keeps you on the payroll for 60 days so you're not technically laid off yet. You just don't go into work physically for the next 60 days. That's why there was no final check or anything like that prepared. That call was horrible and there was no helpnor guidance to employees just confusion and that's an awful feeling
Updated employee handbook says no one has a right to severance. So we will see.
