HLC Accreditation Scam

So, do you think DCEH knew all along that they were closing the HLC schools and that's why they were slow to address loosing accreditation? It seems like they played down the accreditation issue just to get more new students and keep current students (i.e. get their Fed Aid).

Also, is misleading about the HLC loss of accreditation a violation of the Consent Judgement?

I actually think the opposite. I think they intended on keeping the HLC schools open but then got busted not telling anyone (new or continuing) students or faculty that we actually did not have accreditation. We did get reaccredited right before the sale only to have it put on hold in January upon the sale (even though HLC knew we were being sold so why accredit then remove? HLC is fishy too). Then the press gets ahold of the scam Then Durbin writes a letter seeking a review of the secrecy and WHAM...disorganized immediate closings. Imagine 6 full months of not disclosing that we weren't accredited. Can you say lawsuits? I Think the plan was go gen ed online by the end of the year but now? What choice do they have? We even had good numbers...

They knew all along. They just made Fort Lauderdale go through a complete reaccreditation visit at a huge expense and they were gonna shut them down the whole time.
