Lots of those homes........... in your dreams.
@mzd: "Not Intel employees".. Amen to that! Unless said spouse works in Netflix or a company which stole Intel's biz.
I wouldn't bet against home prices in the Bay area over the long term. Historical data said you would be dead wrong. Housing in the Bay area will always be in heavy demand. tech industries and trends come and go, but there will always be those that made it with the IPOs and M&A and those that didn't and move out. it's been like this since the 1970s.

lol.. you mean one $400k house in Mountain View that I bought in 2001 which is currently in escrow to be sold for $1.97milkion? Yeah, I had to sell at a slightly lower price by loweing it by $0.03m after I jacked it up from $1.8million original list price after getting 6 offers, 3 full cash offers, countering all 6 buyers with a $2m price. Silly Valley.... But hey, people can keep their stock options, I'll take cash.
Pssss.. H1Bs can't afford a house in the Bay area. they were never in the market to buy. they rent, just like you. the only people that buy at these prices are peoplele loaded with stock options, most likely not Intel employees.
