There were supposed to be around 400 people laid off last month, but from I can see, the number was significantly smaller than that.
Does that mean that there are more layoffs to come this or next week or month, or did they decide to reduce the number of people slated for layoffs?
Somehow, the second option seems rather unlikely.
Where did the 400 number come from? Sounds like that was a rumor that got spread.
However if you know the way purchasing is operating now it’s easy to see this can’t be the final form of how they would like to operate. Senior Buyer , Buyers completing assessments that make 50-70k doing the job that the Newley creates VCA position could do for 50% less.
My advice , get on an offsite team quick and be good at it. If you find yourself only doing assessments I would be worried. Offsite is the focus and the number of Buyers in store will be scaled down dramatically.
