Thread regarding Sears layoffs

To All of You Working at Hoffman Estates

Remember to take your personal belongings from your cubicle home by the end of this week. Any personal files on your work laptop should be transferred to a portable drive then deleted. Save any materials you'll need for updating your resume, and or portfolio.

On Tuesday (7/10) you'll want to be as portable as possible. A box, a bag, and a briefcase or backpack is all you'll want, so that you can make a swift exit. If by chance Tuesday is not "your day", you know it's coming. You might as well prepare for the inevitable.

I know that people often use their work laptops as personal computers, but it's probably not a good idea to do so.

Another thing I would do in addition to transfering personal files off the work laptop is to back up any information on your personal cell phone if it was used to connect to any workplace resources such as email since the device will likely end up being remotely wiped by the company you worked for once you have left the company.
