Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Inbound Sales call center is a rigged game

Every month in both the NJ and Bronx sales call centers, the same exact people are on top every day and every month. It's so obvious that they are getting more sales calls routed to them for some reason. How this isn't illegal is mind boggling.

@ZPL Because only field techs have a hard job with the company? I was just like you.. when I was a teenager. Grow up. Almost every department is bleeding out, understaffed and overworked right now. Multiple departments are taking on tasks they would originally not think of doing and nowhere in their original job description. Stress is at an all-time high from many of my coworkers across multiple departments. Training for new hires and training for existing employees on new product are nonexistent. A lot of people are looking for a way out and crossing their fingers for another VRP to come out. Overall moral is in the toilet and employees are just waiting for the next round of layoffs. Most of our Sups, managers and longtime employees were miserable and took the VRP. Those who did not or could not cannot wait for another one to come.

@OP It could be a few things that I will go on to explain. It could be they are just good sales reps. Some people are just not cut out for sales.

It could also be that those sales reps are promising customers the world. Providing false information on what the equipment is capable of and incorrect package information. Lying is second nature to a lot of sales reps that I have witnessed firsthand.

It could also be workplace politics and favoritism. I worked for a small office years ago (different job) and the bulk of big accounts would be routed to small specific set of employees every month. They could sit at their desk trying to decide on what kitty litter to buy their cat all day then get praised at the end of the month for being a top performer. I witnessed this first-hand month after month. I sat next to these people who were praised for being top performers while they shop for kitty litter and pet toys all day.

At the end of the day there is always going to be workplace favoritism and politics. It exists in every department. You can double or triple the amount of work of others while they get praised as savior of the company under managements blind eyes. I can pull up twice the amount of work I have completed with a higher success rate and still get no praise and zero recognition. There is a lot of sketchy practices Altice is employing right now and it could come crashing down on them. There is more I could go on about specific departments and what has been going on since the takeover, but this post would be 10 pages long.
