Thread regarding Dream Center Education Holdings, LLC (DCEH) layoffs

Wire Fraud?

If DCEH and subsidiaries AU and Ai have been advertising online as a nonprofit, and recently the US DOE stated it has not approved them to be recognized as such, is DCEH committing wire fraud?

"the schools were supposed to transfer their status as for-profit institutions to nonprofit. But that transfer has yet to be approved by the U.S. Department of Education, a spokesperson for the department said on Friday [6/29/18]"

in irs database they do have the non-profit organization status. but that might be because dream center predates its for-profit acquisitions and might have been originally registered as a non-profit org.

Did anyone catch in today's email how in the follow up email from this afternoon DCEH stood by its claims that the schools are non-profit.

"Our transformation from a for-profit institution to a 501(c)(3) non profit organization opens up philanthropic giving to our institutions that will help enable us to deliver on our mission to provide affordable education. "

Letters, layoffs or not, the fake news that started this has inspired reporters to dig into DCEH and Ai only to find facts indicating DCEH has committed internet fraud by false advertising the schools as nonprofit.

It does not matter if Dream Center is 501c3, if they are closing schools or not, DOE needs to approve the schools as nonprofit. They have not,

I've never heard of such incompetence. I can't wait til the media gets a hold of this information. So I'll report to work tomorrow, come home to a termination letter and keep on keeping on Tuesday. I find the shear stupidity of management hilarious.

“We are thankful that our accreditors and regulatory agencies supported our vision to convert these schools to non-profit institutions,” said Brent Richardson, chief executive officer. “We look forward to seeing these institutions, which date back more than 100 years, to their future focused on their students and the communities they serve.”

Dream Center has absolutely no clue what they are doing. They have mismanaged the firing of Ai Colorado. Employees are confused as to what is going on. Termination letters were received on Saturday in the mail by admissions and financial aid departments. Corporate is saying they didnt know letters were sent out and they should just come in on Monday.
