Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Does anyone know how many stores each DM oversees?

I wd like to know why the DMs are not doing more to drive traffic into the remaining stores?

If their only function is to Demand pictures of RES at zero on ad day or to say this product should go there not here and continue to cut part timers hours then couldn’t the Store Manager being doing the same thing and report to Regional..eliminate the bloated and overpaid management.. that in itself would save an enormous amount of money

With store counts shrinking quickly why the need for the DM at all?

With fewer stores shouldn’t that mean the DM could visit individual stores at least monthly and help out

And in the states that no longer have a store presence with sears or Kmart what happened to those DMs? Sure haven’t heard any of them being laid off like the common worker has!

Our DM has never given us one idea on how to increase sales except to tell us to move the winter coats to the front of the store in April so they would sell. Other than that it is just take a picture of something, fill a gap, clean something, empty something..... Maybe, they should focus on how to sell something. But I'm afraid that most DM's know nothing about business and only know how to follow directions from someone else or make stuff up to look like they are doing something.

@OP - The big misconception associates have is that DM stands for District Manager. Actually, DM stands for Do-nothing Manager. The DM will do nothing to increase store sales, drive productivity or enhance customer satisfaction. However, a DM will do nothing but complain!
