They need to get rid of all the HR reps embedded in the business units. They provide zero value.

Maybe give the HR associates a break. They had no control over how Wednesday went down. If you are going to be mad, and you have every right to be, be mad at their senior leadership and the HR leadership at SSC, not the people center employees who really are trying to help. A lot of HR people lost their jobs this week too.
I am the last person to think HR is on the side of the employee, they are not!!
However, given all that is going on, the fact that those of us who have been let go have been instructed to attend a webinar that really doesn't tell us anymore information and if we have any "additional" questions, "we can call the PeopleCenter" -- my impression of them is even worse than before.
I had several questions -- procedure for sending company items back -- she literally said, "I don't know what you are supposed to do"...ummm...wrong answer, please find someone who knows -- speaking to someone else who may know seemed like the obvious path...nope, no one was available.
Useless...completely useless.
True, they provide no value for the business unit, but that is not their function. Their function is to serve senior management.
