Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Wonder if we all could file for “underemployment” since we wd all like 40 hours

Is it a possibility?

What about part timers filing for underemployment since we get cut to 4-6 hours a week but want more

Is it a possibility

Anyone know how the unemployment works in Michigan?

In Florida, I received unemployment when Sears cut my consistent 20 hr per week to 5-10. I was eligible for every week I received less than 10 hours. They tried scheduling me 10.5 but it didn't work.

Yes, partial unemployment compensation for reduced hours is an option in some states. It is possible in Michigan. Whether you'd qualify and for how much is complicated. Here is a discussion that looks informative. http://www.city-data.com/forum/unemployment/2256041-underemployment-michigan-base-periods-etc.html
