Man, those that didn’t go to the Astros game missed a good one! Walk off homer in the 9th for the good guys!

Honestly the only people we should be sad for are the ones that got left behind. Would you rather have been on a lifeboat or stuck on a once miraculous ship called the Titanic? You think those people were saying, "Oh no, now we have to find another ship!"

Sure...spending money at overpriced sporting events is always the right decision when you've just lost your financial security. People will find other employment sooner or later, but now's not the time to be an a--. Pump sunshine somewhere else.

A sad day for all. I was among the last round of victims but was quite ready to be shed of an environment where R-squared was just another slick phrase. Best of luck to all--there is life after SWN.

BW and upper management saving themselves at the expense of everyone else. Sinking ship!!

Much better economy now than early 2016. For those impacted, I am sorry that you have to go through it. Hold you head up.... you are free, have some level of severance and get to explore a much better job market if you want or need.

Here's the news report:

Southwestern Energy (NYSE:SWN) discloses a workforce reduction plan affecting ~200 employees, including officers, across nearly all locations and functions.

SWN says it will to record a pre-tax charge of $18M-$19M against Q2 earnings, including one-time cash severance payments.

SWN expects the reduction, together with other cuts since year-end 2017, to reduce personnel-related costs by $60M-$65M annually.

Until the ELT is completely gone and interchanged for compentent business people, that aren’t driven by corporate greed, then this will continue to happen every so often. It’s how you lead in the bad times. The good times are easy.

They fooled us all, every other week we've been speculating for dooms day to happen on a Thursday, they must of been reading this site and switched it up on us...sneaky, sneaky, sneaky. BW is the picture perfect image of corporate greed, SWN will never be the same. He has brought the entire company down. If you are left, find employment else where. Prayers for those who have to go home and explain to their families SWN has let them go.

Brutal and heartless email from the management clan, bet everyone of them listed on the email keeps their jobs!!! Highly doubt we can go and talk to them as stated. Sad day for the loyal folks of SWN.

I think Way has now been involved on all the major layoffs for SWN. Need him to step down and get Harold back in there to right the ship
