Thread regarding DST Systems layoffs

DST Email From Execs

This message is being sent on behalf of Mike S.

Today, we will be implementing a reduction in force of approximately 6% of the DST workforce. While difficult to part with many good people, it is a necessary step to improve customer satisfaction, create a more nimble organization and prepare for future opportunities of our combined company. The goal is to be a more efficient and effective organization with a heightened focus on client service.

The Human Resources team and designated leaders are meeting with all impacted parties to help them through this transition. DST is providing severance packages and other assistance to impacted employees.

In the days ahead, your leadership team will provide you with additional information about specific organizational changes. Until then, please focus on your projects and providing clients with your high level of service and expertise.

This announcement may draw attention from outside parties, including members of the press. All media inquiries should be sent to Jen M., Public Relations, at -@- or by phone -.

We will be hosting a Town Hall very soon. In the meantime, I appreciate your patience and dedication as we create and maintain a healthy and sustainable business together.

Today, we will be implementing a reduction in force of approximately 6% of the DST workforce (the number is actually much higher, but hey whose really counting?). While it is incredibly easy to sh---can so many losers who stayed past their prime and were overpaid in flyover country, it is a necessary step to get to a 42% margin, who really cares about customer satisfaction - haha, create a condition of fear by the remaining wage slaves, and prepare for more layoffs in our combined company. The goal is to strip DST down to nothing and ride out the long-term contracts signed late last year. There will be nothing left within half a decade.

The Inhuman Resources team and designated leaders are meeting with all impacted parties to help them through this transition, primarily by handing out white envelopes to the laid off losers and telling those wage slaves who remain whatever platitudes we need to tell them to keep their spirits up to continue to do the remaining work. DST is providing stingy severance packages and other assistance to impacted employees - trust us, they are not getting million-dollar golden parachutes like the execs got in April.

In the days ahead, your leadership team will provide you with additional information about specific organizational changes - don't worry, a lot more layoffs are coming. Until then, please focus on your projects, clean the break room, wash the windows, and ignore the clients. Who really cares about providing a high level of service and expertise.

This announcement may draw attention from outside parties - we really hate those meddling outsiders. We paid $5.4 billion for this jalopy company and we intend to run it into the ground in our own way because we are the Masters of the Universe. If you speak to anyone from the press, we will hound you out of this company faster than you can say "ESOP GONE". All media inquiries will be met with a hodge podge of silly statements concocted by a room full of interns wearing silly party hats.

We will be hosting a Town Hall very soon. It will be held in an abandoned warehouse that we found for rent on Craig's List in the West Bottoms. In the meantime, we would appreciate if you would go back to sleep as we figure out when the rest of you will be laid off.

'The Human Resources team and designated leaders are meeting with all impacted parties to help them through this transition.' Yeah right - just helping to not trip on the way out.

What jobs are going to be available to the over 50 crowd. Most of the people let go were between 50 - 65 because they were making more than those with less experience.

Their training for the next job will be how to correctly say 'Welcome to Wal-Mart'

Good people still work at DST. Though I got the axe today, my friends and colleagues still at DST are shell shocked at the size of the reduction and are trying to figure it all out. Why did they survive when people with equal talent were shown the door? My team was cut in half and some teams are in worse shape. We got a severance package and they have to pick up the pieces and the work load. I feel sorry for them and the nightmare of wondering if they were going to be next. And yet they have to get up tomorrow and I can sleep in or do whatever. Good luck to my colleagues on both sides of the layoffs. You will all be missed.

You better find a new job if still at DST. After one year (mid April 2019) SS&C is only giving 4 weeks severance, they are only giving larger severance packages because they are required to as part of the purchase agreement. I am one of the resources let go in finance so I ‘know’ they plan to only gives 4 weeks after 1 one.

Customer satisfaction gone out the window. The grunt worker bees let go who got the job done. The nonworkers lower pay are kept with no clue of customer needs. The layoffs was all about the numbers. Looking good on paper doesn't give customer satisfaction. Ah the numbers look good though.

I rather imagine this is a plan to bankrupt the company...getting rid of people who did things well only turns the company in chaos. It will go under in less than a year. Mark my words.

DST currently has good customer satisfaction. It is well known that SS&C has crappy service.
