Respect in the workplace

the training only served to confirm my TIS manager’s harassing behaviour for the past 1.5 years. empty words. no recourse.

I was taking c-ap from another employee...She'd block my work with physical obstructions. Sh called me names. She poisoned my work environment with gossip about me to other employees. My lunch was tampered with (I filed MANY complaints, to no avail). She complained to my supervisor that I was not working very hard, even though my production showed I was. My supervisor stated I should just ignore her..."She's just being b--chy" he'd say.

So after months of it, I had enough and filed a complaint with HR. The HR manager, I won't name, because the guy is still there, claimed Enbridge Policy RE Harassment was "LEADING EDGE". REALLY??? Their solution was to put us in the same room. NO evidence was discussed or considered.

The meeting had a cute acronym...MEET. We were BOTH told to leave each other alone or their would be consequences. REALLY??? I was threatened with consequences and I WAS THE VICTIM????? Enbridge LOVES acronyms...but LEADING EDGE??? C-ap!!!! The entire Enbridge culture is harassment and discrimination. Period. I retired and got the hell out of there. After I left, the employee went onto other victims...maybe the problem WASN'T ME!!!

the chief ethics officer is incompetent. The executives don't really want any of the hotline items investigated because they don't want to have to discipline their minions

Boy howdy...I get my respect cause I drive a f250 super duty fx4 platinum edition. None of these sissys mess with me. I have an aftermarket grill - they’re yella AND chicken.

Definitely a problem, and yes Enbridge does very little, if not nothing, when receiving reports of harassment. Document everything, report to HR (this is important as it shows you tried to seek help), then when the company takes no action (as they won’t) call an employment lawyer. It’s worth it to look out for yourself!

The hotline and the subsequent investigations of it are a joke.

Also, if you haven't extensively documented who said or did what and when, you have no case.

Actually, the best advice I can give (and the company doesn't want you to do) is to first call your lawyer.

The only way to deal is to leave unless you can record it then you can prove it. HR is not a non-profit. It works to protect the company not employees.

Call the Hotline with your experience with TIS. It works.

Its true the role of HR in an organization is to protect managers, not the worker

Call the ethics line. They have to document everything, unlike HR which protects managers who harass!
