There is literally zero media coverage of these layoffs. I remember a few weeks ago when Qualcomm laid off a hundred or so people, it was all over the media. What's going on here? Are we not interesting enough to make the news, even with thousand(s) people laid off?

I don't understand why we care if there's news coverage or not. It won't get our jobs back. SSC doesn't care if it's in the news or not. What's the point?
Everyone is silent.
The word is out there though, but there is no interest. Check this out (no interest even tho people are reading it, no RTs, etc.):

I am sure a local KC outlet will pick it up, given it's at least 1,000 layoffs this should be in multiple sets of national news...
It's in the KC Star Downtown KC employer DST lays off employees, reportedly hundreds, months after sale

The DST PR team was laid off today.
Flood all the news orgs with anonymous tips....just did to three different ones in KC!
Someone should email mdavis@kcstar.com.
It takes time for reporters to research and gather facts. Although this page, and folks on here are making it pretty clear about the lay offs, they have to have more than that to report. As pointed out, lay off effect stock and it would be irresponsible for news outlets to report without investigating to be sure it is true. I have been reading for a couple of hours, and even yesterday several people were reporting the news of layoffs, but other were saying it was fake. So, give them a chance to get the facts.
Press release will probably come out late this afternoon. It will probably cause the SSNC stock to jump up. The market’s love companies cutting expenses and increasing net revenues.
Kansas City Star has always limited bad news regarding DST....
Call the media. The separation package says you can't contact the media or you risk losing your severance package.
That's a good one.
Hmm!!??
Maybe the DST employee who coordinated media coverage got laid off?
