Was assured that my role/team was safe following the merger. Unreal.

Corporate raiders don't make it habit to apologize. They are looking at shareholders interest. DST's board agreed to the buyout.
Sad, financial services will always be hit hardest because SS&C already has a group division. Sooner or later, they will attempt to consolidate everything. Bill's master plan is already taken hold. SSnc buys companies with huge client bases and debt. They overpay so they can get the cash and service the debt. All else is irrelevent. Clients may be unhappy but so what? They are still paying. So now the focus is the expense side....people, offices, benefits, etc. Be wary about what the leadership team will say as they are ssnc now.
To OP, very sorry to hear, that really s---s. Wishing you the best. To Albany, we in KC feel your pain; a blood bath here too. I bet 500 are gone from KC offices.
My prison sentence is over! Couldn't be happier. I feel sorry for all those left behind, though— my heart goes out to you and wish you the best of luck in the future. There IS life after DST.
There was a blood bath in Albany NY today. Once a very proud group of over 400 employees working for the Newkirk's found their last few days filled with tension and for lack of a better term harassment. They brought in their henchmen a day prior to the blood bath. With every employee on edge wondering who's next. Some employees with over 25 years with the company. Just Google DST, SS & C. What you (and future customers) see is a company reeked in havoc, distrust and simply no respect for their hard working, loyal employees. If you were laid off consider it a blessing. To Mr.. Stone, and to all the mangers beneath you... Shame on you for the way you handled or should we say didn't handle your company reorganization. Lets hope your current customers treat you with the lack of respect and courtesy you showed your employees. Type in DST and SS & C and the website is filled with BAD content about your organization. Wish I had recorded the seen outside the Albany office. As employees were let go, current employees were placing the contents from their desks in their cars all in preparation for the next round. WOW, what can you even say to that. Well at least this time around they did not hire security guards to walk you out the building. Sitting on the fence about leaving??? Run don't walk RUN!!!!!
So sorry!
My relocation was paid for - non VP
Did they pay for your relocation? Are you a VP level?
Or did you pay for your own move to work for DST?
I started in January, same thing happened. At least I didn't relocate. Good luck to you.
That is terrible -- I am so sorry. I was laid off today too.
Financial Services
I am so sorry. Which part of DST were you with?
