The next round will probably hit healthcare operations harder. There are some uncorrected staffing levels in claims and claims customer support that werent addressed in this layoff. I would expect that they will allow attrition to work for 3 to 6 months and then have another round.

The market changed 10+yrs ago and DST didn't. From a people perspective I don't like saying this but unless they can overcome tech debt expect more restructuring in years ahead.

Not sure what their "synergy" targets are, no matter what six percent comes across as a fairly low number if they are seeking to cut costs. If you think about the back office functions, HR, IT, Finance, etc. - there is much more space to cut there. I am not advocating the cuts as I think that the quality of everything will go down - I am just saying that they have a space that they can trim and that they will be doing it to improve the cash flow and profits which is ultimately the metric they only care about (they = executives)
