Just like HR, don't ever make the mistake of trusting what your manager says. They do not care about you. Get that through your thick heads.
Isn't the end of the quarter Friday?
Our manager told us that we're safe as they wouldn't let any of us go before quarter end. When they walked away we all couldn't help but laugh as she told us the same thing last year and a day later three from the group were gone. Hopefully this manager is the first one out the door.
I'm sure there are lots of managers who are going to be laid off as well.
Actually my experience has been that the Manager/Dir that know nothing is also on the list to GO.
I agree. They'll say "I don't think anyone in our group is going to be affected by a layoff"
They lie about the reality of their group having people laid off until the layoff. That's what they get paid to do, or people would go nuts believing all these rumors.
