Intel’s 10nm process flat out doesn’t work. Intel is about to lose huge chunks of the core server market to AMD and has no way out. The current efforts to hold the line and prop up margins have seriously alienated customers and there is no end in sight for the slide. To make matters worse, roadmaps are a complete mess and change faster than the ink can dry.

Let's not stop and think there is a single reason for his ouster. There are a whole catalogue full. First he should never, ever have been in that role as CEO. He was so mad maybe the Board wanted to publish the single reason (violating company policy) to keep him from earning his retirement.
