Why would they hold a welcome meeting when everyone is on summer holiday? Guess it was department chairs and support staff only - no faculty. Poor planning. I pointed that out when I got the invitation for the dinner meet-greet.

The DOE is run by for-profit idiot who is dismantling all the protections Obama put into place for students. Our President is more focused on himself then any positive moves in education. No one is listening to the few voices still yelling about past grievances. It might be time to move on. The few staff left on these campuses are more interested in what is to come, not what happened in the past. Those scoundrels who trashed the company left long ago.

EC and ACADEMIC staff were sparse even though they hyped it up and then just no showed

If this event had been tied to something like orientation or something where there was an actual reason to be here, it would’ve been different. But it was really forced overall and was a big attempt at PDRs “Bring your friends!” that fell entirely flat. But we had a good meal out of the deal.
Our campus had 3 staff for every student that showed up and it was awkward but at least we got food
Yes so this was a school wide event? Only a handful showed. It was a waste of time if you ask me! What do you expect nothing in this place thoroughly planned out.
