Thread regarding Sungard Availability Services layoffs

Continued bleeding - Heading for the exit door...

I'm watching managers leave in droves. Sales continues to head to the exits. Seems like the layoffs aren't happening anymore its all self attrition. I'm so disheartened and in final rounds of interviews at competitors. The culture here was so great and now it's dead. SMH....

The layoffs are still happening. They are just smaller in number so they fly under the radar. They actually have a blanket RIF for the year and they are bucketing everyone into it. There are at least 12 people laid off after every quarter end and they are even starting to lay off the offshore resources in Pune and Costa Rica. That might not sound like a lot but when you look at what used to be teams of 100 and they are now around 30 that tells you everything. They have cut so far they are now cutting bone. Essential people needed to get the jobs done are being let go to the point the remaining can't keep up. People know the CCC+ bond rating is a company killer and are now trying to get out before the hammer hits them.

If Chapter anything, customers will be exiting at an accelerated pace. It would be worth even paying the buyout clause to get out of the contract. Who would ever want their DR in the hands of a bankrupt company.

Here's a novel idea for Senior Management, why don't you hire another VP!!???!! There ya go, another do nothing, $200K VP will certainly turn the company around and double sales this quarter, right? Doesn't matter that you canned 60% of your experienced sales staff over the past 4 months, cant find anyone worth their bullsh** to hire, or stop the last remaining folks from leaving on their own. Maybe you can try outsourcing sales to India or Costa Rica? Wait, you moved most of the SEs offshore, how's that working out for you? Cant wait for survey results from employees and customers to come back. But it most likely will not matter anyways. The Andys will just blame the current staff and fire what's left in the US if they can.

SunGard was an sp 500 company. Now it's just a joke. To see past and present makes me sick. Greedy f---s. Outsource now that's a great idea, were did it get you? Customers leaving and that is part of the reason, clueless, no communication. Chapter 11 in less then 15 months.
