Thread regarding CA Technologies (CA Inc.) layoffs

Layoffs will continue

They already told us that the layoffs that were announced will continue into the fall.

They haven't reached the 800 that were originally announced.

There's nothing vague about it. The layoffs will continue.

Pretty much what @TGcd2mD-3avd said. We are nowhere close to being done with layoffs. We were granted a small reprieve that will last a few months before we go through the same thing again. Make sure you are prepared everybody, just in case.

I am (was) part of "The 800".

A friend of mine, who will be last in our group to leave, has a theory. He thinks the company will be junked and sold for bananas.

I'm inclined to believe it, considering the way they chucked ALL customer care languages to India. Newbies who know nothing about the processes, or the products, or the company, and worst of all, know nothing of the markets they will serve, have replaced seasoned professionals. Our team of 10 had combined 120 years of experience. And yet, none of us were given a fair chance to stay.

I hurt for those who stayed.

This is sort of true. Most everyone in the US has supposedly been told, but there are a large number of people that have been given notice but will still be around until much later in the year. With that said, I wouldn't be surprised if more are slipped in if the numbers are bad the next two quarters.

Not surprised. The quality of the product are far below par, and the support is marginal at best. A company can only survive so long while putting out such abysmal quality. I've dealt with them for over 3 years and they're one of the worst vendors to deal with period. Everything is held together with bubble gum and bailing wire.
