Thread regarding Allscripts layoffs

Can this be stopped?

Definitely loosing some very experienced support staff from several product lines. Also a key meaningful use resource person at the corporate level. Remaining support staff have heard that support positions will be back-filled with offshore staffing. Support staff from US seems to be dwindling fast.

Anybody else really sick and tired of seeing American jobs go overseas over and over again? Isn't there anything we can do about this?

Is anyone surprised? They have been replacing US workers with those in India since Cos Batinelli announced that Allscripts will be supporting the India middle class. There is nothing in the years since that would lead anyone to believe different. The best thing that ever happened to me was being laid off. No more worry about when it would happen. That cloud over your head affects your entire life.

I feel for a lot of talented folks that will be looking soon. I havecrqched out to a few that are still there with openings at other companies. Easier to find a job when you already have one

Only real way to get them is for all of us to quit at once.

All product lines have failed or failing.

Vast majority of the industry has an EHR , leaving only bait fish and the few rip and replace; code name replace anything Allscripts..

Major players are now moving into the small "bait fish" practices with proven technologies, and growing market share; Allscripts has been losing market share every day for many , many , years.

Mention an Allscripts product and you get a chuckle, eye roll, belly laugh... followed by "Yeah Right"

Hospitals are gobbling up the bait fish size practices and implementing their chosen systems. EPIC, Cerner.

Seriously If you have not started looking you need to start, I have and am now starting to get responses...

I was there when the merger between Allscripts and Eclipsys

occured in June 2010.

Allscripts wanted the Eclipsys Sunrise platform,

because they didnt have anything that was competitive,

and also because Eclipsys support was already in India.

Allscripts saw this as a means to gut US based support,

and move as much as they could, over to India.

That has occured now for the most part.

There were meetings to discuss staffing, after it became apparent,

that the jobs were going to be leaving the US.

Some very talented people then started to leave,

some of them who had been there many years.

I was there a long time, and left several years ago,

and it was my belief, that 75% of my former co-workers

had left before I did.

Now, with all of the layoffs since I left, I estimate another 20%

of my former co-workers have left.

The ones that maybe left, I am certain got that letter,

that I have read about, and will be gone soon.

I stated back in 2014, on my Glassdoor review of Allscripts,

that they were now an also ran company,

and would not last another 5 years.

I see no reason to change what I said.

Its Epic, Cerner, Meditech and then everyone else.
