underpaid for classes taught

Does anyone here also teach more than one class at a time?

And even though it's 2 classes taught in one class period, it is paid as if it were only 1 class.

Well, at AiPH we have a contract that states the union can refuse to allow 'batched' classes based on student enrollment, class objectives and if the classroom assigned does not meet equipment needs. We also get a $150 stipend.

Yes, Ai often even moves students from "related" majors into classes like portfolio, internship, and even 100 and 200 level courses, waiving the original course number for the one they are placed into.

This lets Ai keep low enrollment programs, fire program specific faculty, and provide students with what is available instead of what is acceptable by the related profession. In the end the student gets a degree, just many of the classes are taught through other majors. Don't tell state education boards or accreditors.

I get paid to hangout and pretend like I care.

And don't forget that all the love and kisses for small class size and "imtimate" attention to students is overshadowed by the fact that virtually no one graduates from this phoney loan clip joint.

So save the warm and fuzzy for the so called open houses where fraud is always more appropriate.

yes, especially if the classes are small our director will combine related classes together. A Part I and II like portfolio preparation and and portfolio. If the class size is smaller then 10 with two sections it really is not a big deal because the students get such an intimate experience with the professor. I think it helps students move forward in their courses and is definitely much better then a class of 20 or 25 trying get similar time with professor. If the classes are not related that would be terrible.
