Thread regarding DST Systems layoffs

Pressuring people to quit on their own

Is it just me, or has bullying by management at DST reach a new high?

It feels to me like those on top are putting pressure on people to quit on their own in order to reduce the number of those who will be laid off - and in turn save significantly on severance.

Am I just imagining things?

Stable Value fund is the MMKT replacement. I personally would prefer MMKT fund too.

A lot of people have been looking for jobs, but ageism is a huge problem. Can't collect full ssi till 67.5 now, so need to keep working (till 70 to get full/highest benefits). DST 401k fund choices are sub par. Not getting great gains even though market is high. Plus not everyone had DST Stock as part of benefits like the good old days.

If it really bothers you so much, FIND ANOTHER JOB!! The stress you feel is created by YOU!

Me, I'm, waiting it out and no matter what happens, I'm good. I've mapped out my plans and if I get cut, so be it, I'll survive. And if I don't get cut, I'll ride this job out for as long as I can, I enjoy what I do.

Its all about your attitude.

Twelve years ago, I got laid off from a great job, I was sad, but I took lemons and made lemonade -. If I get laid off again, I'll find another job and perhaps move and change up my life again. Its not that bad. There is a great big world out there, surely some of you want to spread your wings and fly??!!

Good luck, take life as it comes, getting so sick over a job is pointless. Stress = sickness, don't go down that path. Chin up.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean you're not going to get fired!

Its not intential there used to withholding info from you. Now ssnc is withholding information from them and they dont like it, so you get the frustration and temper tantrums

ITS not paranoia! I just know for me for example I am tired of this crap... year after year of mind game crap. Now that they cant even afford a simple 10$ pager per person is a bit more concerning.

The only difference Ive seen between now and a few years ago is the paranoia

I left last year, in part, because in a meeting with C--- B---- it was admitted that they only budgeted a flat three percent for raises, and that was on top of all the usual nonsense about 'doing more with less'.

Then they demoted the best boss I'd ever had because he had the temerity to stand up for his associates to an abusive client.

Why work so hard for so little, knowing that you can be thrown out or demoted on a whim? I'm surprised more people haven't left. Those holding out for severance are going to have a tough time when there are 1000 other people with the same qualifications all going for a handful of job openings in KCMO.

To original poster, if you have directly observed this or experienced this, then you’re not imagining. In KC, I have not observed this, but I know people who have recently found jobs outside of DST because they are tired of wondering what’s next. As the old saying goes, it’s easier to find a job while you have a job.

I believe they can't see the forest for the trees. They have implemented such rigid processes that are clearly not working but rather than admitting that they keep shoving sh--e in. On top of that they seem to have the impression that Agile means do do do without first thinking! It's no wonder the product backlogs are so huge. For every enhancement that's done they add new defects to the backlog rather than taking the time t

o do it right. Dates shouldn't be set before you know what the work is unless you are committed to allocating the resources.
