This was announced to the workers on Monday. We'll know more as the time goes on. The severance package should be OK and this is not USA only. I know it always s---s to be laid off but it is what it is and we all hope that teams will not affected much at least for now

No. Many VPs and Fellows were cut. Many outstanding and good people.
Execs like Bartlett should lose their jobs. Anytime there are layoffs or using the pc-word, downsizing, it is a failure of management to grow the company. One could trace it to a series of bad decisions by the upper echelon, yet they remaining to make more bad decisions. Poor, dedicated people are scapegoats for poor decisions. It's just a shame. Hopefully, the affected people can move on with their lives without too much damage inflicted.
