Thread regarding Rent-A-Center Inc. layoffs

Sale still not ruled out

I was hoping the whole sale saga would be over after last week, but I guess I was wrong. We got an increased offer, so the sale possibility is back on.

I really wish we could at least get a hint of who it is that wants Rent-A-Center so badly they are willing to bump their offer up. It's not as we are a real catch, with the pitiful state we are in.

I guess we have to wait and see...

IMO, I dont see how buddys a hq can handle 1000 rac stores when they currently only support 300. Just because the new buyer owns buddys doesnt mean the new buyers wants to move hqs. If anything maybe they would consolidate buddys hq or move buddy to tx.

With RAC being sold does it mean us RAC employees out here in the west are gonna be laid off?

Between being sold and franchising??? RAC under Vintage will still have its own corporate office. With franchising - the employees will no longer be under RAC. Que sera sera!

They buyer is Vintage Capital who also owns Buddys. They have stated the $14 per share off is their best and final and it will expire at 5pm on Friday.
