I was laid off in the most recent round of layoffs and I couldn’t be happier.
The main focus for the past year has been transitioning everything over to the India team and to layoff the U.S. associates. While the people in India are good people, they have a fraction of the skill level the U.S. associates have. All critical positions that cannot be offshored will be staffed in Ohio.
I have firsthand knowledge that CDK and Reynolds entered into an agreement to block outside vendors from accessing the dealer’s data while protecting each other from the lockout. This is why they have multiple lawsuits filed against them. If the other vendors want access they have to pay the 3PA “security” fee.
In the office I worked at, if management sent out an email asking all the employees if they would like to receive a severance package and this would be their last day 95% of the people would gladly take the offer and walk out.
I am so glad to be out of that toxic environment, with my severance of course.
I am worried for my friends that still work there. Once all the pieces are in place there could be a final massive layoff with no severance.
Good luck to all of you good men and women.
