Sales Quotas

Due to raising quotas beyond what is achievable, people are being paid less for doing more and more work. As a result, more money is being made for the business yet the employees making the money for the business are not being compensated for their efforts.

I only met with CEO's and CO's when I was a SAL. Maybe everyone else was "SAL-ing" wrong.

Can't remember the last time any SAL ever reached-up to the CEO level unless the company they were prospecting was only run by 5 people. If that happened I think the whole room in a SAP session would fall to the ground and collapse in shock if they said they had a CEO contact and the whole room may have to use one of those AED devices we sell to revive them from the shock or laughter.

So, who would negotiate the contracts. It's takes months to get a signature, and not many people can smooze over CEOs well enough to accomplish those goals.

Plus, there's still client relationships to take into account. Companies have severed their contracts just because they lost their generalist. You're saying it's only to lose high-profile clients and their millions of dollars to save a hundred thousand?

There's no logic in your thoughts. You should look at the intangibles of SALs, because in most cases they outweigh the tangibles. They think of everything. That's why they get paid the big bucks. Maybe SALs should be running Staples instead of the nobodies running it now.

SALS might have worked hard 10 years ago but Staples bought CE out 8 years ago. They have had a free ride ever since! They can eliminate all SALS and be just fine. The accounts would be better off and probably survive longer without their hands in the mix.

The party was over when Staples bought Corporate Express (the company where many SAL's came from). We had a good thing going before Staples came in and messed things up.

SAL's work harder then you'll ever know. And, considering the average tenure of a SAL is 26 years, "you" were most likely in diapers while they were hard at work.

What are SALs good for? Working half days, blaming others for their lack of success, giving away bags full of swag thinking that will generate a sale, wasting 3 hours of your life in SAP sessions as they repeat the same useless information shared six months prior or even worse, three years ago. The SALS got away with lackluster results and now the party is over.

Lot's of focus on SAL's here lately. Some focus should be put on the old guard, do nothing directors and managers. They are not feeling any pain yet. They are to busy ducking, hiding and making $hit up.

Just look at the crap they allow to remain in Salesforce. The nonsense is removed and then put right back in. This helps these J-offs look like there is plenty of "busy" going on all the time when in fact, there is no real "busy".

Purge the ba$tards!

The SAL group as a whole needed the wake up call. Years of profiting from advantageous comp plans that rewarded them for little to no new business. It will only get worse from here.
