Layoffs are in process today at Peet’s home office in Emeryville. Peet’s had a challenging 2017. Their owner, JAB, is known for driving profits. Sadly some really good people are losing their jobs as a result of corporate greed. The company did a lot of hiring in the past year for roles that did not generate revenue.

Peet’s closed two more Boston area stores in January. Coolidge Corner and Charles St. employees were offered jobs at other stores but customers are very unhappy.
Dang. No layoffs but HUGE attrition of amazing talent. Peet’s loss, other coffee and tea company’s gains.
Closed in May. Rent went up. Some baristas went to the other store.
When did Peet’s close the DT Santa Barbara store? Shocked to see it gone. Did they lay off the super friendly staff?
Good people resigning in droves. Good people being fired for “cause.”
Peet’s closed 3 Boston area stores last week.
Layoffs at sister companies: Einstein-Noah’s, Caribou, Keurig Green Mountain.
So sorry for the Peetniks who lost their jobs & there families. This really s##ks JAB. You only care about $ & not the peeps that made Peet’s the company that it once was.
This is so sad. I wonder what criteria the so called leadership team used to decide who was to go. Some very talented people were laid off. I’m sure others will leave on their own.
A close friend of mine was let go. My friend gave Peet’s over 10 years of loyalty and great job performance.
20 people lost their jobs.
Does anyone know how many people were let go?
