Thread regarding DST Systems layoffs

look at all these false dates...

Most of you who have posted false dates for a layoff have done nothing but cause others to stress and worry and there is a big piece of karma coming your way. Bank on it.

Unless you have real information and can back it up with proof, identify yourself as a person with true street cred, you've done nothing but post false information and cause many to worry needlessly.

S---s to be you.

never do anything personal on a work phone or computer...unless you want to be laid off.

When DST acquired BFDS last year, the first layoff did include some "web surfers" & "can do withouts", but it also included a lot of people with deep tenure & knowledge. They were people who were highly valued in their roles, but unfortunately it didn't matter. They also retained some of the "can do withouts". Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason to the decisions that are being made.

The first layoff is always the "web surfers" and other "can do without's"

Later cuts are not so. I've seen good people go. If you have 40 weeks of severance. You will be train your replacement or risk losing a 20 week vacation. Or massive double-dip action.

I forget how they worded it, your job is not being replaced your position is or some such legal mumbo jumbo. I trained my replacement in IT in KC so get the "they can't get rid of me" notion right out of your head.

There is no longer anyone left in HR to know!

Your "upper mangers" know. Names have been submitted. When is anybody's guess. They submit the names of people who they can absolutely do without. Doesn't matter how long you've been there. There is very little rhyme or reason, except that if you've ever caused "trouble" for your boss or are a "problem employee", you are on the list. In other words, if you know HR, you are probably not going to survive the layoffs.

Remember, more people than not are keeping their jobs. Only the problem employees are getting the cut.

Every one is scared. I’m scared. We talk about the up coming rumors at work and in our team meetings. Even our upper managers say they don’t know but don’t be surprised when it happens. Dates change but it will happen ... they’ve already said it will. Many of our lives will change soon and that is a scary thing. Some will struggle to find work that pays the bills. Some on here may be fear mongers but I imagine many are not and just posting what is going around the office because the tension is thick and we wonder will our number be up this time.

Amen to what TC2DjTv-rsl said!!

This is a Layoff Site for God sake!!! Not a happy happy joy joy good karma all loving site! Yes people will have rumors!!! It's up to you to figure out for yourself if you think you should believe what people are saying on here is accurate or not. Half the time what people are posting on here might be old news to because of DST playing their own mind games with us and shuffling round the dates to try to prevent leakers.

Hate to break it to the original poster to but this is corporate America. It's all a game! I get emails constantly from people changing dates for meetings. To their own meetings for that matter. Sh!t comes up. You really think they are going to be that stuck on one date? Sure the original date of the 20th that was posted on here was initially accurate as that was probably heard in a meeting. They could happen tomorrow for that matter. Hell who knows. SSnC will be needing to "right size" the company. Since they have taken over there has been very little communication. Always coin that as the "calm before the storm".

And to your note as to why people don't post names of people's identity's on here - Question -

Are you really that stupid? Anyone that hears something is not going to share the name of the person that gave them their info. That would be dumb. Here's a name. Maria Mann etc. Take your pick. Anyone from the top. They are the ones that filter out the date info to their minions. Starts there. I am not wishing layoffs on anyone or attempting to spread fear to anyone. Just relaying information that has been relayed to me. To maybe help others out to prepare here and not be soooo shell shocked if they indeed do happen. Best of luck to all!!

If you don’t like this page the way it is, then stay off of it. The only time anything on here is of value, is when layoffs begin and someone posts that it is happening. Of course there is speculation everyone wants to know. Some want to vent. It is unkind to trash talk people on a page that is here to ask, speculate and yes circulate rumors. So put your big person pull-up on and leave people alone.
