I heard rumblings that they will re open in July? Is that correct or a pipe dream?

Jim Mathis did in fact complete the purchase of Wyotech. It appears that CP has a large influence on the decisions being made in the "reopening" of the school. Looking at the returning faculty it appears that CP's personal fan club have all retained employment . If this school is going to survive and flourish JM needs to take a hard look at the direction the school was take by the immediate current leadership. I believe the direction it appears to be going will lead to JM CP and the whole fan club to be on unemployment in the near future along with the rest of the staff that wasnt rehired. Yes you too EP

Doesn't anybody have any guts to leave their first and last name. For the sake of the school and its history WyoTech it's been around for almost 50 years obviously for some reason. This guy Mathis is trying to do the right thing he may have some skeletons in his closet from what I've read I don't know the whole story and I'm not judging the man but if he wants to try to take over and reopen the school and get it going and keep it going more power to him education is the key here in trying to do the right thing I come from a family of teachers 4 to be exact and at my age I'm thinking about going back into teaching myself there's nothing wrong with being an educator everybody wants to criticize the school and this and that and put this person down stop with all the negativity it's about education and trying to do the right thing
They drove their own personal cars the last two years at .56 a mile. Let me call the teacher and book a HS presentation..done. Now I can claim I drove those 165 round trip miles at .54 a mile to book in person. Same with appointments etc. Very easy money we made.
The WyoTech reps drove company cars so how could they claim mileage expense?
Trust me a few were making over 6 figures last November when they closed. Many were making 60 -80 plus expenses in mileage which drove many to 6 figure mark as they fudged expense reports etc. The only ones that would come back are losers that cant find another job. If he succeeds in buying these reps will have to work double the amount of time and deal with negative fallout of closing and make allot less. LMAO
The reps were making six figures when they were paid commission which now is illegal. Jim has been away from WyoTech since 2002 and a lot has changed. Also remember there were about 400 pre-enrollment students that were called in November and told they could not enroll because WyoTech was closing. The deck is stacked AGAINST a comeback of WyoTech.

If you peeps actually think Wyotech will spin back up I have swamp land in Saudi Arabia to sell ya. Its all smoke and mirrors, I am in all the meetings, hear all the ideas and this ain't going anywhere.

Totally agree on the last post. The only problem will be he cannot afford to keep admissions staff lean on trying to build back up if he has a small window to start turning a profit. The other issue is if he doesn't pay much what kind of admissions rep would take the job? Reps were making 6 figures at times and under achieving. He will have to change the whole culture at Laramie and not sure he can do that after what they have been through for several years. I think he may have lofty expectations as I believe he stated in something I read how he would like to have 40 starts or so in October start? With High School students already deciding to go elsewhere and a low media spend and negative publicity of closure and a lean staff I say good luck on that.
Who really cares? Even if Laramie is bought by Mathis it only effects a very small handful of the current WyoTech employees. He can keep it open with 4 instructors and a few support staff while trying to grow the student population. The main emphasis will be on a recruiting team to enroll new students. The problem with that is the high schools will be closed and the opportunity for recruiting high school seniors will be missed. The veteran pool is drying up and with the economy doing good it will be hard to find students to fill the seats until next summer. The only way for WyoTech to survive and make any kind of comeback is to keep it as lean as possible by controlling expenses, which means less employees and lower wages.

Really 13 dollars an hour times 40 hour per week times 52 weeks. 27000 per year. I call b---s---. At least do some math before you troll.
Yes I have. If he takes over schools $15 hr. for reps and 13 hr. for instructors and support staff.
So then you know as a fact Mathis is not going to pay that kind of money? You have talked to him?
Under Mathis instructors maxed out at 45K, that's about a 30K cut in what some instructors are making now. Someone's gonna say instructors aren't making that much, but if you've been with WyoTech 10 years you're making between 60 and 75K. I know that as fact. No way Mathis is going to pay that kind of money.
I dont know as it is the middle of May and no announcement yet. The funny thing is if you thought you weren't paid enough before just see how much you get under this family run business if they open. We will see your loyalty then.
The last automotive school Mathis started went belly up before it made it a year.
And will close again within 2 years because WyoTech s---s.
