there is no real unity in the industry any where.
everything is designed to push us further and further apart.
what happened to the day when this job wasnt a 24 hr a day commitment.when the employees made good money,regardless of "stature"(in house,union,contractor,management,sales etc)
Remember when we could actually be home with our families,or have a social life?...
When we didnt have to be running 2 pole mid spans on a Sunday,so someone can have their netflix or facebook?
When we didnt have to bend over and take it from nasty customers,or rude demanding dispatchers?
Every year i work in the industry,i gain more experience and achievement,yet every buyout,merger i make less and less with more responsiblity and "metrics".
I used to love what i did,took pride in the fact that i brought people a quality service,with exceptional delivery.
Anymore i just hope that i make more than a shift leader at McDonalds and i get home before everyone i love has eaten and fallen asleep.
