Good to see management finally acknowledge that they have created a sh!thole toxic work environment through all of their constant bad decisions. Over past months we have lost TONS of amazing talent. Staples is no longer a stable work environment and management knows the people are starting to open their eyes to this. Anyone remember a few months back their strategy for dealing with this topic was just to deny, deny, deny? Take everything said at this meeting with a grain of salt people, don't forget the last few all hands meeting where they blatantly lied to everyone faces. Anyone remember the classic Sycamore meeting "No layoffs or immediate changes are coming" speech? Look how that panned out...

well shortly after SP took command I heard 1 of the top Sycamorons tell us in a meeting, repeatedly, that everyone would get paid on Friday, knowing full well that over a 100 of us would be hauled into a conference room the next week to be told buh bye.
"If sycamore finally gets around to moving out the old guard directors and managers in SBA, this move could set a clear message that the true change is in full effect."
Absolutely dead on!
I was at plenty of "We hear you and we understand. We now plan to refocus on creating one true Staples and moving forward with best-in-class products and breaking down the barriers that prevent our associates from serving the customer" meetings. Nothing really ever changed.
If sycamore finally gets around to moving out the old guard directors and managers in SBA, this move could set a clear message that the true change is in full effect. Outside of that, these FS, sal directors and managers will continue to cover up and hide how ineffective they are to SBA. For that matter’ what do “directors” actually do anymore?
SDS is IT (Staples Digital Solution, I think for this go around.) Don't worry, they change the name at least every year to year and a half, so it will be something different in a few months.
Sycamore never said there would be no layoffs. Not sure how you managed to hear something that was never communicated and so out of touch with reality.
I hate most of the people on this site and Staples equally. What a conflict of ...
Ah, who cares.
good bye
I've only been here 3 months. Can someone tell me what dept SDS is?
Remember, that chain of managers you report to have all signed onto the Necromonger Way. When their team is gone, their position is gone. They'll ration out sacrifices and only toss one or two at a time into the layoff volcano so they can keep Staplesing. It's your job to understand that you are food.
I'm not here for the Nazi hyperbole, I just want to know what they said about SDS morale / culture / working environment and what they claim they will do about it
Sitting back and waiting may not be the smartest thing, there have been rumors floating from reasonable sources that the contract will be ending soon that Staples and Sycamore agreed to meaning once it ends you can say goodbye to the severance packages. Honestly if this ends up being the case you would be lucky to be in the next round of layoffs.
Germans didn't kill all six million people immediately.
they kept many working the camps to kill others.
so do they want you gone?
yes, eventually.
but not immediately.
Do you think they really want you to stay? What I have been seeing is that they are working hard to get people to leave. Not really sure how this will end up but we will wait and see. Just set back and wait or find another job.
just the next layer of lies designed to keep a few cornballs working until they can sell the whole rickety rackety thing off.
Yes, for all of us who already left, we are interested to know what the state of SDS is
Can you tell us more about the meeting? Things discussed, what they said the future of the company looks like. Thank you.
