Well, It's May Session!

May is usually layoff season. When do we find out our fate?

The sale will go through...even if targets are missed. They want the online education component (not ground campuses). They are paying $1 for DeVry and gaining $20M in operational money to assist with the dismantling of campus operations. If you are in a campus, your days are certainly numbered (although they will need to teach out all programs and that could take a few years).

LW claimed the transfer is on track--what does that mean? July is the signoff--Cogswell will make the decision then--even in a common real estate transaction, a "buyer" could walk away from the table. I suspect that if enrollments are not where Cogswell wants them, they will negotiate more up-front money, commensurate with under-enrollment. Or, if the gap is unbridgeable, they may yet walk away. Then what? A teach out? Another pay-to-take?

But LW claimed that the "transfer of ownership" was on track two days ago at the quarterly earnings report.

Yes IF the deal goes through. Enrollment is below required number Cogswell wanted per the agreement. It’s anyone's guess what happens next.
