Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Bases for ageism suit?

One of the affected employees told me the number was 300. All of them older well comprensated highly experienced people.

From what I saw, this seems like exactly what happened. Considering that it looks like older employees were specifically targeted for this layoff, any chance there are bases for an ageism class suit here?

Agree it was older personnel who got axed. I had 20+ years of experience and then they reduced our RIF benefits to almost nothing. I guess they needed the money to pay for Exec salaries and Exec parachutes, while screwing the middle management. Suing them? Post and you will get my support

What exactly do you mean by "next one will be 9/21"? Do you mean another re-organization in september 2018?

File a personal law suit...Much better option to get out of court settlement. My guess is that what you are interested in. Next one will be 9/21. This one costed 3 to 3.4 Mill. There is 20 Mill provision for re-organization.

Form what you can sense in the organization; there will be a split in PS and Product. PS will be a separate company; exactly what HP and other companies have done. If Teradata wants to sell PS they do not want lawsuits; better chance for settlement. Class action law suit are more of publicity stunt and hard to justify.
