Thread regarding AFLAC layoffs

Severance

Anybody here knows if it's true that severance is about to be reduced significantly? Been talking to a few folks at the office, and they claim they heard that's one of the new ways to additionally save during layoffs.

Is that even legal? If it is, it really shouldn't be. Talk about hitting somebody when they are down...

Massive list circulating this morning with people's names on it to be displaced. Seeing a lot of closed door meetings? Hr reps? Time is ticking.

Severance is not required by law. If you are not offered cash severance at least try to negotiate a continuance of your health insurance for 30, 60, 90 days before you have to start paying for COBRA.
