Remote Workers

So first they announce everyone will be getting merit raises for the first time in years to get workers to complete their performance assessments. Merit raises turn out to be jokes, was told I was lucky to get 1%. Then they use those assessments to target who to lay off. Now remote workers are being told to transition to an office regardless of if you have team members in or live hours away from the nearest office. All a ploy to get ppl to leave voluntarily without having to pay severance. Let's see what other talent we can lose and how much more understaffed we can get just so the big wigs can get their $$$$ bonuses. WHAT A JOKE.

There was no plan this year to provide merit increases to everyone. this year there was a very tiny merit budget, where last year there was none. If you did get a raise, you are in the fortunate group even though the values were small. The majority of our employees did not receive raises. Having said that, Conduent has no plans to give pay raises to staff unless they are in the "exceptional" group. Conduent will not allow managers to put staff in the exceptional group to the degree the managers would prefer. Even poorly paid employees with exceptional performance can be excluded because there is not enough money in the merit budget to provide them.

They aren't doing it just to avoid paying severance -- if you quit, I don't believe they have to pay your 401k match. My understanding is you have to be active on 12/31 in order to get the match....unless you are laid off (then you get it).

So make people miserable enough to quit and they avoid paying severance, match and unemployment?

Merit based performance....Ha Ha! They should have first taught managers on how to conduct a performance review. Performance reviews were a joke! Hard working individuals in this organization go unrecognized,duration of years matter!! It is not banning of remote employees that pissed me off,but more of the wording in the memo- transfer work to existing employee or replace them. This company does not value its employees. They have morons occupying senior positions ,some of them can’t even draft a reply for their own email. Disorganized business,left hand does not talk to right hand. Losing bids left,right and center. I can’t wait to leave this organization.
