Thread regarding Zenith Education Group layoffs

The ones that really got screwed were the ones that were let go after the big RIF and before now, those people got nothing but a 2 week severance and a pink slip.

At last post on employee stating we were gloating. Do you understand with the Federal Warn act we got paid two months to sit on butt at home. Also we received unused PTO time and if not working right now unemployment benefits for 6 months. In actuality people are making more money as most were making 40k to 50 k a year and now have time to look for better job. I will not even mention severances from 1 month to 9 months pay. Sounds like you got screwed 3 years ago!

Go back and read some of the posts where people were happy half their co-workers were gone. They wrote about how they felt these "worker bees" deserved to be let go and how the ones that were kept were sooo deserving because they were such better employees. I've been waiting for three years to watch this train wreck crash and burn and those who thought they were so High and Mighty find out how it feels.

The real question is why do any of you still work there? The writing has been on the wall for years. If you had any skills at all you would already be working for a new (REAL) company.

I dont know who the dude or lady is that keeps on posting people were gloating that they lost their jobs 3 years ago. THis person continues to troll the board. If we gloated you lost your job it was because you were a jerk off boss and deserved it. Nobody was gloating when the worker bees lost their jobs just the idiot managers.

I don't know why some people think that management was "safe" from RIFs. The sad truth is that many of us were laid-off; fired with fake charges and false performance reports; and sent home to work there but slowly "disappeared" into the sunset. My disappearance was about 2 1/2 years ago and although it was a bad employment experience, it taught me that greed at higher levels will help to crush those in the lower ranks.

There is a new book out that explains the wealth of politics and politicians. Our demise was politically intentional. People who rose to power in the political arena opted to dump the for-profit education system. Then while the for-profit schools were down and out, the politicians at the top did an about face thereby restoring the stock value of the so called defunct schools. While the schools were groveling for its last breath, they swooped in, purchased the stock and made boatloads of money when the for-profit status was restored.

Sorry, don't feel bad for those losing their jobs now. They are the same ones that gloated about those who lost their jobs 3 years ago. It's all kinda funny now.

I dont know what the original OP intent was but maybe he or she sees it as hundreds of students getting screwed so the employees can benefit. Most of the people getting let go with the exception of management weren't making a heck of allot of money so I am sure if they have anything upstairs they can find a job with comparable money. I knew from 3 years ago when ECMC took over it was not going to last. The whole deal with the DOE seemed fishy and the amount of money the acquisition cost ECMC was very cheap. I believe most employees saw this happening so if you are in a position to lose your home over this then although sad you should have been looking to get out. I chose to ride it out as my salary was good and I figured I could find another job if let go which I have. Hopefully the people that were let go can find one soon.
