Just curious if anyone knows what this is. They are making all of management stay home on 4/4 to "talk to us". Very disconcerting...I smell riffs again. Thoughts?

Are they going to shut down any warehouses in 2020 like they said back in 2019.
Does anyone have a clue as to when the next round hits. Store closings and loss of store jobs will be next. Hours were just cut across the board.
Radio Shack,Sears,Toys r Us, Kmart,

Beginning of the end?
Someone wrote the company needs a turnaround specialist. UNFORTUNATELY, the company ended up with "reacharound specialists" because those new management came in to wipe out the revenue while the dog and pony show continues on for long enough to keep distractions at the forefront. "Hey, look over here, we have commercials!" "Look how diverse we are!" "Check out these serious company downsizing efforts while we plan for your departure!"
The field had to be a one-stop shop. Another round of layoffs at that level and all would be empty-handed because the field staff would (and should) jump ship after another layoff wave. No intelligent retail executive would ignite multiple nuclear bombs near the core of the business, which in this case is mostly rooted in field operations: storefront sales and management. BUT we're dealing with the best of the best so you never know!
Ok people, trust your gut. If you THINK it's bad, or FEEL there are RIF's coming.....the writing is on the wall. This has nothing to do with Chris Brickman!! He's only been the CEO a few years!! Blame the good 'ol boys before him! They were spending money on frivolous crap instead of investing it on improving processes and bumping employee pay. This goes WAY before Chris.....
They saw the writing on the wall and took their money and ran.
CEO is incompetent. Need a turnaround specialist at this point.
You are lucky you got a severance package. If this happened at a store level, They would have just let us go. It’s time they invested at the store level. Pay is ridiculous for all who runs the stores. I hope that’s the 1st change!!! We need a new pos system 2nd 😬. We shall see!
And if you think they gave a respectful severance package...think again. 8 weeks, regardless of how you were employed there. So generous of them. I don't even think they paid us for the day we all got laid off.
The CEO wrote a book “The Brilliance in Failure”. In 3+ years he has failed!! Not one improvement for the company except to cut payroll that for the most part were hard working employees that had experienced success. Making changes for the sake of making changes must be the “success” part of his plan. He has lost all credibility with the current employees and everyone is looking to get out. Sad to say that Sally is headed to the same fate as Circuit City, CompUSA and Radio Shack. The CEO was suppose to be the savior but instead we hired the terminator. Wait maybe I’m being too harsh!! 😉. In his 3 years Amazon, Walmart have made massive gains in ecommerce sales. Chewy was created and sold for billions but we just now are able to provide 2 day shipping to our customers. Awesome can’t wait for Sally 2020!!!!
There are about 950 in Denton combined and 200 plus we’re let go.
30 District Mgrs east and west plus 6 CosmoProf Directors east and west
This is bad. 2 big layoffs in last 15 months
CosmoProf/BSG was hit pretty hard. There are still more layoffs to come.
I think they will start letting DSCs go who have not been performing over the next few weeks. They are making the company very lean, cutting employees, not restocking warehouses. They currently have over $60 million in inventory that they can't get rid of....perfect storm for a buyout/takeover.
So do you think their done with all the lay offs or are they still continuing?
What can I say, Chris Brickman is a spineless pig who should have been fired a long time ago, along with all his other corporate henchman that cover Full Service and Stores. They let people go today for no rhyme or reason, performance #s were not a factor. And the severance package being given to management is a f---ing joke. The call today was a scripted call with zero sympathy.
Yes
Did anyone really lose their DM?
I would say 1/2 of Full Service management was let go today...including Director's.
Are they going to lay off store managers..or are they safe?
If I had to estimate... I’d say about 40% of the corporate office was laid off today. Cosmoprof took big hit.
All above store management. A bunch were let go today. Stores know nothing just that suddenly they dont have district managers.
All of which management? Which dept?
