What a year of mind f#ck3ry. They have completely messed with each and every one of you.
Some of you will get laid off. Some will stay, for now, only to be worn down again with 2019's layoff psyop.
I've been around a long time, seen many a layoffs. One thing is always true, they lay the long timers off because they are too vested and know too much history of the company. They have to retain some people and will keep the more recently hired people because they are easier to manipulate and retrain into a new corporate model of expectations. They will layoff the complaints for obvious reasons.
Long timers have too many resentments and can be toxic to a new management structure. Newer employees have less of a beef about anything and we're probably hired to replace some that are being let go. So if you notice some new hires that don't seem that busy, it's because they were hired in anticipation of the layoff and will one day be doing your job.
You can disagree all you want but they messed with you for months psychologically, some left, some are waiting to hear what happens next. After the layoff they'll hire more new people, they always do. And those people will be fresh and clean from the previous toxic environment created to stress everyone out prior to the upcoming layoffs.
No one is safe.
2019 rinse repeat.
