We've had open positions for every department in our store. A neighboring store is in a similar predicament. We are short on home appliances, home improvement, store support, softlines. Most of these positions have been open for months.
Our softlines supervisor position has been open for close to six months. The store support lead position just opened up and it's probably going to go unfilled for several months. Therefore, the only managers in our building is the store manager and hardlines supervisor. Three associates have been given key carrier privileges to open/close the store and work the cash room for drops and loans since there isn't management coverage.
Is this intentional by way of not taking any action to fill these positions to save money? Are other stores out there stuck with too many unfilled positions?
