What was the final count of this (March ‘18) layoff? And was it reported in the news media?
It’s all rearranging deck chairs. Writing has been on the wall with this company for a few years now ... company talks about the so called Juniper ‘values’, but it’s all propaganda in an attempt to ensure internal conformity. Company tried to lay me off and took me to court, only to lose as they had absolutely no grounds!!! Juniper ‘values’, what a complete pile of crap - I think the out of court settlement was probably the only thing which was actually of any value in my whole experience.
Productive people just got laid off but overpaid beauractats who haven't produced anything in years are still here. There is a VP in CTO who says he's in charge of "New Business". He hasn't done anything for years and everyone knows it. He claims to be a "Visiting Scholar" at Stanford but he's getting full pay at Juniper. And of course had a mistress in his group who had no qualifications whatsoever. Probably more than half a million in profits wasted on this one individual every year.
If sales was impacted to that extent, isn’t it likely that a merger or aquisition is around the corner?
I totally agree that blaming sales for every bad quarter is a mistake. Marketing at Juniper is the crux of the problem, closely followed by PLM. Maybe bringing Marketing and PLM is the right move, but I suspect the issues are too far gone, and the Marketing gurus and PLM geniuses who “fake it till they make it” are not up to the mark to pull juniper out of the hole.
I was told by my manager today that number was around 770 total; PS and Sales mostly this time.
It is pathetic to blame sales on every bad quarter. Everyone's life would have been much easier if the products did not blindly follow other vendors and have less sh--ty quality.
What is holding back on engineering and PLM? Time for you to save the day with the various cool toys you have been building for decades.
ya lots of folks in sales including major account managers...i heard bands 8-11 affected most.
PS, Sales not sure about others
what orgs are effected?
Engineering, Sales, Marketing, PLM?
