What is really up with all the deal flash product flooding our Kmart? From food, chemicals and pet food. A lot of product from super value and Essential. Just keeps coming in. Are we headed to be a Dollar General?

The worst is all the deal flash apparel. The stores that aren't closing yet are inundated with excess regular inventory from stores that are, and we still have like half our fixtures filled with leftover clearance that isn't going anywhere, despite a confusing new percent off sale system that seems to take just certain items off the sale at random times to confuse us and anger the customers. Despite all that, we have to find space to fit things that we don't even get a reasonable assortment of, nor can we rely on ever getting restocked on it, so there's no point trying to actually organize it, and it just ends up in piles of like-branded clothing. Some of the stuff we get is almost literal garbage, the stuff that has been rejected for deficient quality. I remember some of the first deal flash stuff I saw was fleece sweaters that all had at least one noticeable hole in them.
Forever? Really? Ok.
First of all. The Supervalu sourced products are replacements for own brand products or supplements to our regular dry grocery line.
Second... we have carried value-oriented price points forever throughout the store. They are an alternative to more expensive national brands. Right now, we have $1, $2 and $3 price points featured prominently.
Yes our Kmart is getting all this dollar deal crap in too.Every truck has about 600 pieces of something. There is no place to put it.
Heard rumors that some sort of dollar store chain wanted to buy Kmarts for just that.
