Besides all their other issues their favorite one is to do a RIF about every 2 to 3 years. These layoffs and forced retirements go after mostly people > 45 years old. They sprinkle in enough younger people to make it look good. They tell all they can apply for jobs elsewhere in the company but they only hire back the youngest. Even people who have worked and slaved for them 24 x 7 for years are thrown out like a cheap leisure suit. Surprised they aren't hit with an age discrimination suit.

Hey I got plenty of documentation so if you have a good age discrimination lawyer in Atl, please post that info here.
They were given a mandate to eliminate FTE. The common factor of the positions up on the block are the ones with the most tenured employees. They will offer them resume help, then it's out the door.
In the November IT layoff, 7 of the 53 people were under 40. You can't treat people this way the same quarter you made 800+ million dollars, strip them of a pension they planned their life around, and expect them to just accept it. Columbus attorneys may fear Aflac, but those in ATL can't wait to hear your story. All it takes is 12 of your peers to make things right. The arrogance of a company who shuns those who gave decades of loyalty will be costly in the end. Expect AFL to be the next Disney on cable news....soon.
Out with the old, in with the new. Forced retirements and "displacements"...just fancy words for layoffs.
It’s common practice. If you’re a white male, forget about promotions. Unless, of course, you’re in TW’s circle.
