My experience is that intel has some of the best engineers. And mostly MS and PhD student. In Bay area particularly lot of people from Stanford and Berkeley. Can't say about the new breed of H1Bs

It's funny that people from grade 9 and 10 also come to this forum for verification .... it tells a lot about the company...
280K Tcomp for gr10 is consistent with glassdoor data for Santa Clara.
(glassdoor has about 19 data points for santa clara PEs, so it looks reliable)
100 % accurate
G9 engineering salary midpoint is ~$165K. Average stock grant is around $20K. Average bonuses would be around $40K. So average TCOMP would be around $225K. I don't think there are any differentials for the Bay Area at G9. And these are averages, the ranges are pretty large.
G10 engineering salary midpoint is ~$190K. Average stock grant is around $30K. Average bonuses would be around $60K. So average TCOMP would be around $280K.
@sxv You can negotiate. Corps always offer medium range pay and expect you to negotiate to higher.
We're talking average g9, average g10 - not the rare exception that gets overpaid.
G pay also varies by Business Group.
A G8 in HR/IT/Finance is paid less than G8 in Engineering or another highly valued technology group.
I have recently joined intel santa clara from a startup. 16 years experience. Offer is grade 9. Base pay is $160k. Higher than my previous employer.i was expecting more.
What is base pay.
@fpi Lol I’m already over 200k tcomp at G8 in OR, those numbers are low.
For bay area it is:
$200 total comp for G9
$200-250 total comp for g10
$250-270k Total comp for G9, depends on job title too.
I think it about $2
Whatever it is, it will not be enough to live in the sh--hole known as the Bay area.
